The benefits of training are well understood within the Borough and a range of high quality education and training facilities are available in the area to meet the needs of local business and industry.

 

The University of Hull, Scarborough Campus offers a unique student experience, with 1,600 students, the campus is a friendly place to study. Degree subjects ranging from the traditional to the modern include Creative Music Technology, Internet Computing, Coastal Marine Biology, Teaching and English.

 

Recent investments in facilities have resulted in a suite of soundproofed studio rehearsal rooms, complete with industry-standard equipment.

 

As part of its dedication to providing lifelong learning opportunities, the university works closely with the local community to boost its economic regeneration and the regional skills base.

 

The Yorkshire Coast College is a further education college based in Scarborough and provides a broad range of vocational and non-vocational courses.

 

The college is able to ‘tailor’ courses to the requirements of particular industrial sectors and employers, as well as offering an extensive range of recreational and evening courses.

 

Scarborough Sixth Form College offers courses up to A Level ranging from business studies, mathematics, chemistry, media studies, law and many more. The College’s life long learning centre offers a wide range of part time courses for the mature student.
