Economic Development

UK Plc is the fourth largest economy in the world and the
Borough of Scarborough has enjoyed 10 years of steady economic
growth. Under the theme of '
Renaissance', the
Borough Council is committed to promoting a new era of
progress.
The delivery of the Borough Council's aspirations in relation
to local economic growth is dependent on a range of factors,
particularly maximising resources for investment, and creating
effective partnerships with the Regional Development Agency, other
public agencies, businesses and the local community.
The Council’s Regeneration & Planning Service has produced
an Economic Development Strategy to provide a framework for
investment. In the delivery of this Strategy, the Council is
committed to working with our partner agencies and organisations,
local residents and our corporate partners to promote and improve
the economic, social and environmental well-being of the
area.
